I've installed easyblog 5.0.19 and is using Joomla 3.4.3. I created a menu item with a blog heading. The posts works fine, but when trying to add a comment to the post, it redirects to the home page with the forms underneath the homepage content. I don't see anything on the backend to keep the comment page in my blog page. Please help.

Hi Oscar,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

It seems like you don't have any easyblog frontpage menu item hence your frontpage module will be displayed when you click on readmore/comment on the blog since the blog is not associated with any of the menu item on your site. I've created a hidden menu item "blogs" for easyblog frontpage menu item and the redirection is working correctly now.

Hey Oscar,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I tried to access a post on your site at https://www.johnmoran.com/joomla_2/index.php/component/easyblog/test-column-1?Itemid=101 and posted a comment without any issues here, http://screencast.com/t/CcRkzpK07F .

Am I missing anything here?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes, the blog functions works, but it redirects the page to the home page, rather than staying on the the blog is on. I would like to keep it on the same page.

Thanks,

Oscar

Hello Oscar,

I've checked your site and trying to post a comment, it didn't redirect me to the homepage: http://screencast.com/t/RSSGaJ5V

Hi Nick,

It looks like you were on the home page to begin with. If you click on the blog button in the top menu, this is where I have the original post. If you try to click on comment from here, it goes to the home page.

I hope this clears it up.

Thanks,

Oscar

Hi Oscar,

I believe there are some misconfiguration with your SEO and menu item settings. Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you correcting this?

Hello,

Thanks again for the help in the past. Unfortunately we had to make some changes to the joomla menu. I've deleted the submenus under blog. Now, when I click on it, it shows the post category, but no actual post. I can see two posts in the blog category in the dashboard that are published.

Also, under the Auctions & Events menu, I have submenus of calendar, valuation days, and lectures. I've created categories for them and have test posts in all. Is there any way to show the full posts without having to click on the continue reading? The actual text that will be in the categories are usually very short.

Thanks,

Oscar

Hi Oscar,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. Please find my answers from your inquiries below.

I've deleted the submenus under blog. Now, when I click on it, it shows the post category, but no actual post. I can see two posts in the blog category in the dashboard that are published.

I've checked your menu item and it seems like you have set to show the post from author "info" only as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/qtr4BYdamBqf . Hence it will only try to display blog posts from author "info" instead of all blog post inside that category. Unfortunately the only way to delete it is to delete the menu item and then re-create it back from your backend. I've helped you with the process and it should be working fine now.

Also, under the Auctions & Events menu, I have submenus of calendar, valuation days, and lectures. I've created categories for them and have test posts in all. Is there any way to show the full posts without having to click on the continue reading? The actual text that will be in the categories are usually very short.

You can set the readmore off by going to your backend > easyblog > settings > layout > truncation, http://screencast.com/t/FrQZrctDrxvL .
