I'm looking for something similar to wordpress child theme where it inherits from the original theme but applies customization from the new "child" theme.

Would like it so that customization stays the same (don't have to reapply edit) even after the original theme is updated.

Is there a way to do this with all stackideas products?
Hello Peter,

We actually do that with EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss but we plan to remove this behavior in the future unless you explicitly want to have overrides. The problem is most of the template makers / webdesigners out there want full control over what and how our extensions appears and they do not wish to inherit a single CSS from the default theme.

Anyway, in short it is currently possible with EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss as it will always inherit from the default theme.

How about ES? Is there an easy method to make minor changes for that one without having to redo the edits?

Hm, ES is a little different as we do not use css overrides but we use LESS overrides and it isn't really possible right now with 1.1 but with 1.2 it would be much clearer on how you could apply overrides but still inheriting from the original wireframe theme.

Check out the "frosty" theme in EasySocial 1.2 and it will give you a better insight of how we are applying LESS overrides.
