Changing custom registration field on existing database

Currently during user registration I have been using a textbox for users to input their school name. However because of all the errors users make I would like to switch this field to a dropdown list but I will need to merge all the existing schools and still have them connected to the proper accounts.

Hello Matt,

It seems very tedious to change the custom field and all it's data. My advise is you just create another dropdown custom field to replace the existing textbox and post an announcement using our broadcast feature to tell your user to update the school field.
