Hi, there is a change in how we are structuring the site. As we are using Mighty Sites, we decided not to use EasySocial at masyarakat.co, but instead, we are installing it at ketch.social as the master site. Would you be able to change the support domain from masyarakat.co to ketch.social? Grateful much.

Unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate your request as we believe this is an abuse of our support. The reason is because,

1. You have previously been requesting support for your domain masyarakat.co , https://stackideas.com/forums/profile/achmadfadzil

2. Since you mentioned that EasySocial is no longer used in masyarakat.co, I am not really sure why it is still running on the site, http://masyarakat.co/utility/community

3. If you require support for more than 1 domain, please consider upgrading to the Developer plan.

Hi mark,

Thanks for replying. There is a component that links both sites that we are trying out, as such we need to make sure that it's compatible first. We have yet to really launch any of these sites, as they are related sites. The nature of these is that you only need one installation of ES so we will definitely uninstall the one at masyarakat anytime, esp once the one at the new site is set up.

In any case, do we actually need support to install? Cause I do not know why I cannot do a manual installation.

Fyi, the above also applies to EB and thereafter, we will also install EasyDiscuss. I dont think we need any support actually for any of these, just to simply install. But if the extensions have been designed such that one needs support to install (or too complicated for an auto-install), then it's a shame.

The licensed domain is mainly used for support and installations with the launcher package. If you intend to install on any unlicensed domain, use the full package.

Licensed domain is not primarily for installations. The reason that we enforce this is to prevent people from abusing our support. Example of abuse:

1. A web agency purchases a pro license (With support for 1 domain)

2. Posts 100 questions for site1.com

3. Requests to change domain to site2.com and claim that site1.com is no longer using the software.

4. Posts another 100 questions for site2.com

5. Repeat step 2 - 4 all over again.

This is what has been going on and this is why we do not allow you to edit / change your domain without a valid reason. Unlike closed source software, we do not restrict the usage.

Hi Mark,

I understand where you are coming from. But I don't really care what others are up to. What I need to do is to focus on my startup to keep it up and running after spending considerable investments. I do not want to be unnecessarily dragged into certain untrue allegations of abuse, which is a very serious allegation for a customer. This will require more efforts on your part to verify, rather than just assuming the obvious based on your bad experience. For me, there's so many other things to focus on.

I am just explaining to why there are such policies in place because we will not be able to change the licensed domain from masyarakat.co to a different domain considering that:

1. You have been requesting support for masyarakat.co
2. You still have our products installed on masyarakat.co

If you plan to still use our products on masyarakat.co and ketch.social, then please consider upgrading your license to the developer version or remove the extension from masyarakat.co

Since we will not be using EasySocial on masyarakat.co, we have already uninstalled the component from that Joomla installation.
