Hi,

Is it possible for the EasyBlog Select List module to simply show a list of entries NOT in a drop down menu?

Thanks

Ian
Hello,

Sorry but it is not possible. However we do have other modules that can display a list of blog. For example, Easyblog Latest Blogs module. You can give it a try.

Hi.

Perfect! Thanks.

Here's another tricky question:) Is this possible:

A user adds a blog from the front end. When they click Publish, the blog is assigned to the Main Menu.

For example: in my main menu I have a Single Category Layout menu item assigned to a category called "About Us". When a user adds a blog to this category from the front end (e.g "Location"), can this new blog entry become a drop down item in the main menu - About Us > Location ?

I am happy to customise code if necessary.

Thanks

Ian

Hello Ian,

I'm sorry but I can't really understand you here. Did you mean, when you create a blog post titled "Location", it will create a menu under About Us? It can be done manually via Menu Manager. You can select Single Blog Entry Layout: http://screencast.com/t/mZWe7cp54R and make the menu item under About Us.

Hi,

Sorry for the confusion. I would like the front end user to be able to write a new blog ("Location"). Once they publish the blog, it will appear in the main menu under "About Us".
See pic:

The front end user does not have access to the Joomla back end.

Thanks

Hello Ian,

Means that the "Location" is the title of the blog? Or it is the menu item title? Here is the process (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

1. User create a blog post. The title is "Location".
2. User publish the blog post.
3. The blog post will be the menu item under About Us.

OR

1. User create a blog post. The title is anything (for example: "This is my Blog").
2. User publish the blog post.
3. The blog post will be included in the menu item "location".
4. Once clicked on the Location menu, it will display a list of blog post created by users. Including the "This is my Blog" post.

Which one you are referring to?

Hi,

The first one is what I would like. The blog post "Location" will be the menu item under "About Us".

Thanks

Hello Ian,

Is that the case, Easyblog won't be able to automatically create the menu item. You have to manually create it as Single Blog Entry Layout and set the Parent as About Us. Here are the steps:

1. Go to Menu Manager and create new menu item
2. Follow the settings as in here: http://screencast.com/t/52t00THF6uO .

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Unfortunately, for my needs I would have liked Easyblog to automatically create the menu item:(

It would be just like having the Latest Blog module as a menu item. Is this completely impossible?

Thanks.
