Hi,

I use hashtags a lot on my website and the system works really well in that Easyblog pages get Easysocial posts added to them that share the same tag.

Having said this, many tags do not have a page, this makes them difficult to style. Also the urls for tags is quite long:
website.com/news/hashtag/topic

Is there a way to abbreviate this to cut out the /news/?

I assume the easiest way to do so would be to create a menu item for tags that can be changed - this would significantly shorten the url to just:
website.com/tag/topic

Best, David
Unfortunately that is not possible to change this URL format.

Unless you set your Easysocial dashboard page as default site homepage.
