I wish to modify the Advanced Search page. Two questions.

1. Search criteria
The default selection is: "is equal to"
Can the default be changed to: "contains"

2. Search Options
The default is "Match all fields"
Can the default be changed to "Match any fields"
Hello William,

You may try to change the search criteria here your_local_Joomla_folder\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_easysocial.ini in line 2495 and 2490 .

Hope that helps

Hello --

I opened that file. Please explain what I am supposed to do. I do not see how this file controls the order of the Search criteria items in the dropdown list. I also do not see what controls the radio button in the Search Options

Hello William,

Sorry for the misunderstanding and the late reply, if you want to make the default selection make the "contains" as the default selection you may need to hack this file user.php located here in your local_Joomla_folder\administrator\components\com_easysocial\includes\advancedsearch\helpers\user.php. You may replace the original user.php with the attached user.php. Please backup the original user.php in case if anything goes wrong. The result of the hack is shown in this screenshot http://screencast.com/t/xFIZDHJn

Hello --

Thank you for the file. It changed the "Search criteria" as I desired.

However, I also want to change "Search Options" default from "Match all fields" to "Match any fields"

An additional request -- I also want to delete (or hide) the "Only search for user's with a profile photo" checkbox option

Please advise. Thanks for your help.

Hello William,

Sorry for the late reply, unfortunately for the search criteria is not possible to change the default behaviour . To change the default behaviour might cause the advanced search to not work properly.

But for the "Only search for user's with a profile photo" it is possible to hide this option you may have to hack this file default.content.php line 84-88 by placing a comment tag on the div tag called "checkbox es-search-options" as shown in this screenshot http://screencast.com/t/bbYh5am3eM . The described file is located in your local_joomla_folder\components\com_easysocial\themes\wireframe\advancedsearch\user\default.content.php . Before you make any changes to the file please backup the file first just in case if anything goes wrong.
