Hi,

Dennis here again.

I have a menu item with category view as menu type and one main category I want to display in the frontend.
Now the category shows posts from other main categories which should not be in the range of the selection.

This issue occurs even with SEF completely off.

Latest update is installed.

Regards

Dennis Heiden
Hey Dennis,

Hm, to be honest I don't quite understand your issue here. Are you saying that there are other posts from a different category appearing despite you have already configured the menu to filter from a different category?

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue? You may store your site access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so you don't have to provide these information all the time

Exactly,

I have created your support login to the site.

You can see the issue here:

/blog?limit=100&start=100

Post: "Gesundes sehen"

This post belongs to category "Landingpages" , which is not a sub category of "Neues aus unserem Blog".

Menu Item: Menu -> 4SEO Menu -> "Unser Blog"

the non-sef-url active in sh404:
index.php?option=com_easyblog&Itemid=1146&id=10&lang=de&layout=listings&view=categories

Hi there,

Checked your current settings on your site and it seems that something is not right on your site. Can you provide us with your FTP access for us to further check on this issues? By the way, may i know that current given access is your staging/test site? If yes, it should be better for us, as we are going to do some debugging codes on that site.

If not, it would be best if you can do full backup of your site first and let us know when we can access them. Please advice.

Hi Abdul,

your FTP access is in progress. This site is indeed the staging site and I did a backup today, so feel free to debug.

I have to mention that we are using a highly modified template and overrides for EB with unusual approaches. If you want to test without those mods, please change the frontend to Protostar and deactivate all "SV" plugins (100 Autoloader, JS-Script loader, Template Extender) via backend. (Otherwise you will get errors.)

If you need further assistants (because the site is very complex), please consider to write directly to heiden@straightvisions.com .

Regards,

Dennis

Hi there,

After checking hours on your site, it seems that it is required for me to access your database for further check on this issues. It would be best if you can provide us with those access so that we can further check on this issues. Please advice.

Hi there,

After hours checking on your site, there are some of data on your site is not stored correctly. There are some duplicates on the data and it is causing this issues to happen.

May i know how exactly those post created on your site? Is it your migrated them from somewhere or maybe imported by rss fedd or any sources? And may i know that you have do some customization/altering on your database especially Easyblog table?

Please advice.

Hi,

no we didn't alternate the table itself. Most old blog posts (<2017) are imports from K2.
And I added the ratings by hand, one by one, into the ratings table. (Does that matter?)

When I delete the duplicates in the post table, will this work for us? If so, I would do this by myself.

- Does it matter if we delete all revisions / drafts?
- Did you change anything on the site (Admin Tools?) we should know about? If so, a list of your changes is mandatory.

Hi there,

Right now, it make sense after you said that you have migrated those post from K2, as those post might somehow got messed up, as those revision for each post is not tally with each other.

By the way, i have done some fixes(as listed below) on your test site. It should shown correctly now. May i know that you wanted us to perform them on your live site? If yes, it is required for to do full backup on your live site, make it offline for awhile, and provide us with your database access, and backend access for further this on your behalf.

But if you wanted to perform them on your own, you can try to run sql query below and see how it goes.
[gist type="php"]
TRUNCATE jos_easyblog_revisions;
UPDATE jos_easyblog_post SET `revision_id` = '0' where 1;
[/gist]

Then, after you have run those query, head to your fronted and try to refresh your page again. It should works as it should.

Please advice

Thanks, I had to truncate sh404 urls and now it works like it does with SEF off. Thanks a lot.

Did you made any changes to core config, htaccess, EB config or Admin Tools?
If so, could you please provide a short list of the changes?

If not, we are done and the issue is solved. Great job and thank you for your efforts!

Regards,

Dennis

Hi there,

Did you made any changes to core config, htaccess, EB config or Admin Tools?

As far from what i have done to your site, we only done those stated steps on my previous reply only. There are no other that we changed currently.

If not, we are done and the issue is solved. Great job and thank you for your efforts!

You are most welcome. Glad to hear that your issue has been resolved now.

As a gentle reminder, kindly start a new thread if you have any other issue in the future so it will be easier for us to manage your inquiry. I will lock and mark this thread as resolved.
