Hi,

Can anyone guide me on how best to mimic a category tree within events?

Most components, such as EasyBlog's awesome category hierarchy, supports this, but it seems this isn't available in EasySocial events. Maybe this is a good feature request, but in the mean time, what's the best way that I can filter events down....ideally, through County, to County Areas, to City, to Postcode area, and finally to Venue of an event.

I would like it so that -whatever the user enters, be it a county or city- all events in child categories would display.

I know there are great location integrations in the actual event listing, but I just wondered.

Thanks

Chris
Hello Chris,

Nested categories (tree) is something that we are looking at in EasySocial 2.1. As of now, I guess your best method is to utilize the advanced search in EasySocial where you could perform search based on specific fields from an event category.

Okay, that's great, thank you. I'd be very glad if it made into 2.1, so I'll keep an eye out. Just for project planning, when might that see the light of day?

Thank you for your response!

Hello Chris,

I wish I have an answer to that but at this point of time, we don't have an ETA for it just yet but do poke around our blogs

That's great, thanks. I thought I'd ask, but I'll stay nosey and keep an eye on the blogs.
