Hi

1. Users who are subscribed to a category on my site are not getting the email notification.

I have "Notify category subscribers on new entries" set to "Yes", but it doesn't seem to be working.

2. When I delete a blog entry, I would like to be redirected back to the deleted blogs category layout page - NOT /latest.

Thanks.

Ian
Hello Ian,

I've tried to replicate the email in your site by subscribing to Blog Category and when I post a new blog to that category, I do get the email notification : http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-02-12_1045.png

As for the delete redirection, may I know from which page you are deleting the post?

Hi

Sorry, but I'm not getting any email notifications. I have subscribed using 3 different emails, and none of them received a notification when a new blog was posted.

Also, when I subscribe to "Events" with an email address that is not my site admin address, the subscription doesn't get assigned to any category. See the attached pic of the "Subscription Confirmation" email and the EasyBlog backend.

Could this be related to my question at the bottom of this thread: http://stackideas.com/forums/looking-for-subscribe-module-for-a-specific-category

Thanks for your help.

Hi Ian,

I have tested this issue, by subscribing to Blog Category I do get the email notification. Here is my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/lY6LPKkzRfTg . Am I missing anything here?

Please advise.

Hi,

1. When I subscribe to a category, I am getting the "Subscription Confirmation" email. But I don't get any notification emails when a new blog is posted.

I have tried multiple times with different email addresses (see attached pic), but the notification email that Nik received above never comes.

Why is it working for Nik, and not for me?

2. On the category layout page for "Blog" and "Events", the Subscription module in the sidebar is working fine. But when I use the module on any child page (or blog entry page) of these categories, the subscription is not assigned to any category (see attached pics in my previous post).

3.
As for the delete redirection, may I know from which page you are deleting the post?

If I delete a page from the "Events" category, I would like to be redirected back to the "Events" category layout page - "/events". This should happen for all categories:

Delete from "Blog" -> Redirected to "/blog"
Delete from "TS 2015" -> Redirected to "/ts-2015"
Delete from "About" -> Redirected to "/about"
and so on...

I hope this all makes sense

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

I am sorry for the delayed reply.
1. When I subscribe to a category, I am getting the "Subscription Confirmation" email. But I don't get any notification emails when a new blog is posted.
I have create several blogpost to test this and I believe I have received the email notification correctly. Here is my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/8moYJulzfR6v and http://screencast.com/t/QAQcSbuK3 . Can you please try again?

2. On the category layout page for "Blog" and "Events", the Subscription module in the sidebar is working fine. But when I use the module on any child page (or blog entry page) of these categories, the subscription is not assigned to any category (see attached pics in my previous post).
I have apply some fix on your site at: .../modules/mod_easyblogsubscribe/tmpl/default.php . Hope this work.

3. If I delete a page from the "Events" category, I would like to be redirected back to the "Events" category layout page - "/events". This should happen for all categories:
I have apply some fix on your site in this file: .../components/com_easyblog/themes/default/blog.admin.tool.php . Can you please give it a try again?

Looking forward to hear from you again.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Hi

1. I am still not getting the new blog notification emails. In the backend EasyBlog "Mail Activity", i can see the "New blog post" notification sent to your email when you created a blog. But when I create a post, I don't see the same mail activity for my posts.

2. Thanks, it's working now.

3. Great. Thanks.

Hi Ian,

I am not sure how to replicate this issue on your site. Here is my steps which I take to create a blogpost.
1. Create new blogpost.
2. Choose category, (blog/event/or any categories) which you have subscribed to.
3. Add blog image.
4. Published.

I have created new test post on your site. May I know do you get the email notification of the new blog?
Perhaps you can share with us steps you've taken to create the blogpost so that we can try replicate this issue on your site.

Please advise.

Hi,

Yes I received the notifications from your blog creation.

But I don't get them when I create them.

I create the blogs from the front end using the account details attached below.

Are you creating the blogs from the front end? Can you please create one from the front end using the attached account details and see if the notification emails send?

To sign in, click the "sign in" icon at the bottom of each page.

Thanks
Ian

Hello Ian,

I've checked your site and I believe you have customized dashboard.write.options.php. Can you please revert back the changes and see how it goes.

I think we have finally found the problem

I had hidden the "send notification email" option in the dashboard.write.options.php file because I didn't want it to display on the write blog page.

Is it possible to hide this option while still sending out the notification emails?

Thanks so much for all your support.

Hello Ian,

How did you hide it? Did you just hid it using css or did you remove it altogether?

Hi Mark,

I just marked out the php code using <?/*>.

I assume you can hide it using css, but I only have my iPad on me at the moment, so I can't find the element ID for that option.

Can you tell me what it is so I can hide it with css?

Thanks

Hello Ian,

I can't access your FTP to edit the file for you. You shouldn't remove the subscription code. You can just add this style the list tag for the subscription option:

<li style="display:none">

Hope this helps.

Hi Nik

Wouldn't that CSS code hide all the list styles on my site? How would I apply it only to the subscription option?

I have attached the ftp details below.

Thanks

Hello Ian,

I am not really sure what has been modified as there are tons of changes on the dashboard.write.php file but I have added the fix which Nik suggested earlier in the file dashboard.write.options.php and amended line 180 - 185 to the codes below,
