Forum,

Just installed the latest version of EasySocial, EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss on Joomla 3.2 and I'm now in the process of configuring the site and I was wondering if there is a way to define a site wide set of Categories and Sub-Categories between all three products or do you need to define them three different times?

If possible, it sure would save a lot a typing and would keep the site definition consistent.

Just wondering???
Thanks

Daniel,

Each extension is independent of each other, and there is no way at present to define a site wide set of Categories and sub-categories. In my site I made all the Categories the Same, because perhaps in the future the Integration will be much tighter. I would expect this to happen down the road as the extensions become more Integrated.

When you use the extensions together, you have to set the following settings in EasySocial, EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss:

1. In EasyDiscuss you will add the apps for EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss. See this discussion.

2a) In EasyBlog, you will set in Settings > Workflow > General > Users > Control what users are able to edit when they edit their setting - set the Login provider to EasySocial.
2b) In EasyBlog, you will set in Settings > Layout > Avatars > Avatar integrations - set to EasySocial
2c) In EasyBlog, you will set in Settings > Comments > Integrations > you can use EasySocial Comments if you choose. Optional.
2d) In EasyBlog, you will set in Settings > Integrations > EasySocial > you can use EasySocial Layout features - see the page for all the option you can set. Also you can set EasyDiscuss here too.

3a) In EasyDiscuss you will set in Settings > General > Workflow > Login Provider > Select a register provider you can use EasySocial as the login provider
3b) In EasyDiscuss you will set in Settings > Layout > Avatars > Integrations > Use Profile Linking - set it to YES - Profile Picture Integrations > Select EasySocial as Profile Picture
3c) In EasyDiscuss you will set in Settings > Integrations > EasySocial > This page allows you to configure integrations with EasySocial
3d) In EasyDiscuss you will set in Settings > Integrations > EasyBlog > General - This page allows you to Display blog entries in profile. Set to YES.

Hope this helps you and others to make the INTEGRATION of all THREE EXTENSIONS easier.

Thanks Randall for your reply.

Was wondering if you could give me the posting that you referenced in Step 1. By chance do you mean EasySocial in step 1?

Thanks
Dan

Hello Daniel,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply. You can actually download the apps from http://stackideas.com/apps and install it via EasySocial > Applications > Installer
