Hello,

I have an issue with my page with a special category where I granted only access to special users - not to usergroups. Maybe this was only possible with Easydiscuss? After upgrading to ED4 it seems that this category is no longer visible in frontend to the different users. In backend the category is still visible but without any granted access to any user group. If you would like to check:
I am talking about the category "intern". In the meantime I granted access to this group to the user group "registered users" because our webpage is still in development and there are only "known users" available.

It would be great if you could check and support me. Thanks a lot! My access data should be available in my support profile.
Yes, that is correct.

Hey Horst,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Sorry but not entirely sure if I understand you here. If there is no "group" assigned to the category permissions, then nobody can actually view the category which is the default behavior. Am I missing anything here?

If you have assigned "Registered" group to be able to view this category, then users under the "Registered" group will be able to view this category and the discussions under this category.

Hi Mark,

thanks for your feedback. Yes, you are right - the registered group is now able to see the category. Before I had to do so, I assigned single users to grant access to this category but this "feature" is gone since the update....

Ah, yes in 4.0 we have turned this feature off because it was too complicated to setup and the code was a mess.

Okay Mark, thanks - so I do have to set up a special user group?
