We recently upgraded from 3.x to 5.x and now links to categories don't work. They go to a 404 page with a url that isn't functional.

I attached a screen grab indicating exactly what link I am referring to.

I went to the SEO setting and made some tries at changing the routing as I feel this must be the issue. I did get it to go to a category list when I used default but it went to the wrong category. Our alias is kuzu-chronicle but it took me to a different category called beauty-chronicle.

I tried editing my menu aliases and category aliases. I have run out of options and so its time to ask for help.

The failed links issue is because the article has moved since the link was made. Its in a different category now. I know this isn't an easyblog issue but if you have any suggestions for a resolution I'd appreciate it.

i have the same issue, even trying to share blogs on facebook i get 404 error, but as is the first time i post on this forum, i have a question, as i am replying to this, is private my site info here or i need to create a new topic?

I added a link to the easyblog homepage and the category link now works.

I'm perplexed by a possibly related issue.


We have blogs that link to articles. The link is inserted as below. In some categories this works and in others it does not. I'm stumped.

I'll give a better example
Blog post "Kelly Moran's body discovered" has a link to an article that when seen in the blog list doesn't work.
Blog post 'Socialite found dead" has a link in the same format that when seen in the blog list DOES work.
The blog listing can be found in the url posted below

Can you assist here? I'll continue my trials in the meantime.

I fixed this problem too. The category and menu were both unpublished.

No issues here.
