My search form has a category filter. When I change "sort category by" under layouts my category filter reverses. So, I have to choose if I want my search filter to be in ascending order, or if I want my category view to be in ascending order. This is counterintuitive, what gives? Please advise...
Hello Philip,

I have helped you modify the file /components/com_easydiscuss/helpers/helper.php . Can you see if this is the output you want? You can copy the file across to your live site.

Sorry Philip, I am not really sure if I understand you here. Can you please elaborate more on this and perhaps with a screen shot?

Hello Philip,

Ah, unfortunately that is not possible currently. The sorting option is actually applied on the categories view and is not applied on the category selection when posting a new discussion.

When changing the option in the backend both areas (the categories view, the category selection) are affected. So, I'm not sure I follow your statement.

I'm sorry, you guys make some awesome software, but this seem like a mistake I would make.

Theres nothing I can change anywhere to switch just one area?

Hello Philip,

Hm, can you provide me with the back end and FTP access? I'll take a look at your current setup.

Here you go. Thanks for looking at least.

If you're successful please mention how you fixed the issue. This site is for testing, so I'll need to make the change when I move the real site into the directory.
