Hi all,

What I have is a fresh easy discuss installation. So I don't think I messed up any of the configuration

I have created a category in easydiscuss but its not showing up unless I'm a logined user.

I have tried assigning all user group to all possible ACL to the category but its still not appearing.

How can the categories appear to all non-logined user?

Thanks a lot.
Hello,

I've fixed it for you. What I did was re-save the Option under User Manager. This issue came from Joomla 3.2 which the public user id is set to default unless it is re-saved. Hope this helps.

Hi Arlex,

Wow! Thanks for your fast reply even on a weekend! You guys are awesome.

There still seems to be a problem. Under the category list, the categories are not shown unless the user logins.

Non-logined user >> http://imm.io/1kKQd, http://imm.io/1kKR0

logined user >> http://imm.io/1kKQK, http://imm.io/1kKQU

Edited:
To add on, the categories are showing up if I turn on "Show Classic Category" under Layout > Categories option. The categories are not shown in the following areas:
1. categories list (http://www.secondopinion.com.sg/staging/index.php/categories)
2. Module mod_easydiscuss_categories
3. Module mod_easydiscuss_navigation

If I tried to access any of the categories (i.e. http://www.secondopinion.com.sg/staging/index.php/categories/listings/uncategorized), it gives the error "Sorry, but you do not have sufficient privileges to perform the requested action"

Also, if you noticed, all discussions under the categories are not shown as well unless logined.

BTW, I'm using Joomla 3.2.

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Arlex,

Thanks for your following up with me so far.

I have just setup a fresh joomla 3.2 with easydiscuss 3.2 beta from your link.

I'm still facing the same problem.

Logined User> http://imm.io/1kL4k
Non-logined user> http://imm.io/1kL4B

I have also found out that the default installed category "uncategorized" will disappear from "guest view" once any of its modification is saved.

This behavior is consistent between the beta and the 3.1.8872

Access to this easydiscuss installation is attached to this reply.

Hi guys

I have more or less the same problem here. After I change the default category, nothing shows up when you log out 'http://gtaforums.dk/index.php/discussions' I am not sure if I click on something to make this dissaper on the site, but it would be nice to be able to see the list of post and so on when not logged in. Can take a look at this?

Hi Nik

Many thanks for that... I take that this would be fixed in the stable release of ED 3.2? Btw when is that coming out?

Hello RR,

Actually, we cannot fix this issue since this is came from how Joomla manage the user group for public. We don't have exact date for the release but we will release ED RC within this week.
