Dear Tech Support,

I have followed the instructions in http://stackideas.com/forums/display-a-list-of-child-categories-in-this-category to a tee but Categories are still being displayed in a flat instead of tree structure (as in http://screencast.com/t/GsTTk2ImrO8I). Attached please find the screen captures for my Layout settings and front-end display.

Could you please let me know how I can resolve this?

Thanks!
Hi there,

I've checked your site and it seems like you are using flatt themes for your easydiscuss, http://screencast.com/t/Ole7mWvZEq . Currently categories tree layout is only applicable for all themes except flatt theme in easydiscuss. Perhaps you can try to change your current theme to other theme and see if it will show the tree layout for your categories view.

I am not really sure if I understand you here. Do you mean you want to achieve a layout that looks like this? http://screencast.com/t/kFTONCcu

Hm, that should already be the default / standard behavior. Could it be some customizations / css hacks that you have added which causes your categories to be floated to the left?

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hi, Mark,

I didn't hack the files for Categories.

BTW, I'm still having problem with the Module for Categories, despite the hack your colleague did in /components/com_easydiscuss/helpers/helper.php. I only realized the problem with sorting is still there after adding more parent categories today. As you can see the parent categories are not sorted in alphabetical order although the child categories are (see attached).

I have entered the credentials in the link you sent me the other time.

Thanks again!

Hi, Ezrul, let me look into the other themes then. Could you also help with my other issue? Thanks!
