I use 3 categories - each of which has numerous sub-categories.

I wanted to use the CATEGORIES LAYOUT (All Categories) menu item to create a nice intro page for each of my 3 categories, such that the page would show the sub-categories with the latest posts and active bloggers (like this layout view does).

BUT it doesn't seem to work with sub-categories? (see my link) - In the menu item parameters, you can only select the parent categories... Is there a way to show the detail of the sub-categories?

My suggestion is that either the menu item back-end parameters should allow you to select ANY EasyBlog categories (is there any easy code hack for this?) - and / or there should be an option there that lets you check a box to include sub-cats.

This really would improve the layout and presentation of my site (and work for many others too I'm sure)....
Sure, will take note of this

Hello Andy,

Sorry but it is not possible currently to display items from the subcategories currently.

Understood. Can that go into consideration for a future version (assuming it's not a simple code hack anywhere)?

I guess for now I can edit all my (100+) categories so none have parents and are all at root level - Not great as it would lose the benefits of structure elsewhere, but I think I'd prefer to have this category view capable of showing the categories I want it too as it's a nice layout
