Hi

I have a multilanguage site and categories for English and German articles. I set the language option of those categories as requested and assigned articles to it. If viewing the page in English or German the categories that shouldn't be visible aren't displayed in the list of categories. So far so good. But when entering the German category name in the English URL the category is still going to be displayed.

Example:

This situation generates issues when auditing the page in my SEO checker.

Besides, when not manually selecting the language-specific categories for the frontpage menu item, all articles will be displayed in both site languages, even if they are assigned to categories that shouldn't be displayed in this language.

Is this normal behavior or am I just doing something wrong ?

Thank you and kind regards, Stefan
I suspect this blog post (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/vYIUNJ4bKnMk4wDcjYmygYOfeiE34T) doesn't post to the German language (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/NsfJUB39tseSFT6pBtwIRoqMVVEsC3) , this is why you still can able to see this blog post under English language page.

For the single category page, I will log into issue tracker.
It shouldn't able to allow user to access it if that category assigned to different language.

Besides, when not manually selecting the language-specific categories for the frontpage menu item, all articles will be displayed in both site languages, even if they are assigned to categories that shouldn't be displayed in this language.

Can I know how to replicate this? Perhaps you can elaborate more details regarding this and provide us with your site backend and FTP access at https://stackideas/com/dashboard/site so we can better have a check.

Hi Arlex

This would explain a lot but unfortunately, I don't see the option to set a post language... https://monosnap.com/file/kQYUGMC2oHbhfKki3GyegdI85bK08J

I just added admin credentials to the ticket.

Best regards, Stefan

I already help you enabled "Allow Language Selection" setting from backend, it should show this option on the composer page now.

And I already help you updated your existing 2 blog post language option, it shouldn't show that blog post on this page now https://www.moveyourass.fit/en/blog/categories/ernaehrung .
