Dear team,

first of all: thank you for the great work!
We found EasySocial to be the best choice for our usecase, since it is very powerful combined with all the other packages and covers almost everthing we need.
There are just a few points, that could improve usability and flexibilty even more.

We are planning to build a large community with a certain number of predefined group categories.
Those entities will be mapped to geographic regions, so that only people who live there will be allowed to create groups / pages in the associated category.
This scenario requires to create a profile type for each region.

Currently, it is possible to restrict "group creation access" inside a category by selecting profile types.
Do you think it's possible to also include joomla's user-groups (or even individual users?) in this selection?

thanks and best regards,
Felix
Hi Felix,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding the above, at the moment, it is not possible to restrict Joomla user groups in group category's 'Group Creation Access' section. What you can do is to create one profile type for each of your Joomla user groups. This way, you can then select the correct profile type in this section.

Also, you can post your feature request in our 'feature request' section at https://stackideas.com/forums/easysocial/feature-requests-2

Thank you again for testing EasySocial 3.0 beta.
Have a nice day

Thank you, Sam!

Thats exactly what we did => create a profile type for each category.

It technically works well, but of course the dashboard is now "flooded" with those utility profile types.
That's fine for now, but it would be a great feature for future versions!

PS: Can you move this thread into the feature requests section?

cheers,
Felix
