Hi

I have two issues - firstly, I have version 3.9.15155 which in the control panel says is an older version but doesn;t offer an update despite the API key being correct. Secondly, it is not possible to subscribe to the blog despite the configuration allowing public to subscribe (not even given the option to enter an email address). In settings under 'subscriptions', all the buttons bar the last one (Allow registrations during subscription) are green. I have tried changing this one to green also but it makes no difference.

Any help gratefully received.
Hello Sean McElherron,

That was strange, is it possible provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this issues? Please advise.

Hello Sean,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Actually that was known issues in Joomla 3.2, when i re-save the setting from your Joomla backend > User > User manager > Option , then the public subscription work fine now.
Let's try go to your Easyblog Updater and click update button, see my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/ucH6gA0cAbS
And see how it goes? Please advise.

Hi Alex

No problem, thanks for coming back to me.

Public subscriptions now work fine and also the update, thank you. I have successfully subscribed 3 other users and they show in subscriptions but in the email notification, show up as 'invalid blogger'. I am guessing there is another option other than 'subscribe' which then allows these people to post their own replies?

Kind regards

Sean

Hello Sean,

You're welcome.
May i know where showing this "'invalid blogger'" ?
Also, do you mean that you would like to allow the public user to reply on your blog post?
If yes, you can configure from your backend > Easyblog > ACL > Public user group > Post Comments "YES"
If no, can you elaborate your question with more details, and include a screen shot of what you are referring to. Please advise.

Hi Arlex

It was only when I hovered over the name of the person who had subscribed in the notification email I recieved in my Outlook inbox. If it is a question of configuration, I will go in and take a look at the setup, perhaps it is configured that only registered users can blog and not members of the public.

thanks again for your help.

Hi Arlex

Not sure if this should be a new thread or not but I was trying to change the publication date of my first blog post as I wanted it to be this year and not last. When I tried to do so, it said that (my previously OK) title now contains prohibited/forbidden words.

There are no profanities in there and I tried deleting the words one by one and it still had this error. Is this a bug or a setting I need to reset?

Kind regards

Hi Arlex

Further to my last comment, I am also unable to amend the blog in any other way, even though the title remains unchanged.......

Kind regards

Hello Sean,

Did you revoke the access you had given us? I can't seem to login through your backend to debug your issue, please advice? Without access i could not locate the issue accurately.

Thanks:)

Hi Khairul

Sorry - we were doing some site maintenance today and possibly cleared your access by mistake. I have added new username and password below.

Kind regards

Hello Sean,

I had fix your issue on your site, I notice you had change the word filtering and you had entered example1,example2,example3,*space* . I just remove the ,*space* in the end and you are able to save your blog. I had also change your date to 2014, please remember to press the small button save at the bottom of the date after editing.

I am guessing there is another option other than 'subscribe' which then allows these people to post their own replies?

Subscribe will only send the subscriber to receive email about the new blog post. They would have to be registered to write blogs on your site, unless you set the public to be able to write on you site in Backend > Easyblog > ACL > Public > Write Entry to yes

Thanks:)

Hi Khairul

That's brilliant, thanks for your help there, much appreciated. Yes, I would prefer people to register to be able to post replies rather than just the general public. I hope I have it set up this way?

Kind regards
