I have tried to save the settings in EasyDiscuss as you can see here, http://screencast.com/t/GqME2b2oH and it seems to work fine for me. What are you trying to configure here?

It looks like there's some issues with the ajax URL requesting to /administrator/?option=com_easydiscuss&tmpl=component&no_html=1&controller=foundry&task=getResource as the page is throwing 403 forbidden. Is there anything that prevents the request made without index.php to fail?
