After spending hours checking the site, it seems like the problem is coming from this plugin, http://take.ms/gwzRa . Since the events is trying to render the WYSIWYG editor from Joomla, Joomla tries to render the core.js (which is from Joomla) but this plugin seems to be removing the core.js from being loaded.

Once I disabled this plugin, everything works fine now

P/S: I love what you did with the template and having the social network appear on the full width of the page!

Fantastic, yes - now I also can create events. Glad that you could find out the issue, as events will be one ot the key services in the future, once it is ready.
