If I try to change (enable/disable) toggle buttons anywhere in EasyDiscuss I get a message saying "Your configuration changes is saved successfully" but my changes are not saved. The toggle buttons return back to their original position. However, I am able to make changes to all the dropdowns.
Hello Bryan,

Is it possible provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this issues? Please advise.

Hello Bryan,

Could you mind provide us with your FTP access so we can check the file is it all install completed? Because i checked in your Joomla backend console, it seems like the error come from the script file ( http://screencast.com/t/RYJRTv1YfE ), is it can perform an re-installation of Easydiscuss in your side and see how it goes? Please advise.

Unfortunately I am unable to do so. I don't have FTP enabled on this server. If you can use SFTP, then I can setup an ID and password for you. Let me know.

Hello Bryan,

Yes, you can try to setup it SFTP access and let us know when you're done, because this connection is always secured and the protocol includes operations for permission and attribute manipulation, file locking and more functionality.

"Notice : Remember post your SFTP access information in the optional information field below.

Hi,

I'm also having the same problem. When I click the Yes/No filter buttons in the settings and click save I get the message "Your configuration changes is saved successfully" but the settings aren't updated.
I tried upgrading to the latest version 3.2.9385 but that hasn't fixed the problem. I am on Joomla! 2.5.19.

Has any solution been found?

Kind regards,

James

Thanks for your quick reply.
Unfortunately due to our company security policy I don't think it's possible to do that.
I am however a web-developer so if there is any info I can provide or debugging from my end please let me know.

Hello PSX Web Team,

You're welcome, hmm, we're hard to tell you what is the problem causing this issues out without access in your site.
Can you try following this few method?
1.) Re-install the latest version of EasyDiscuss and make sure after re-install is it no hitting any error?
2.) If no hitting any error message when you during the re-installation, try open which Easydiscuss setting page (Yes/No filter buttons) is not save properly the setting > then open the development tools (F12) > click Console > and see got any error show in your console screen (if have show out the error, screenshot for me)

Hi Arlex,

I noticed the following JS errors when I load the settings page in the backend. See attached image.
"ReferenceError: EasyDiscuss is not defined"

/index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&view=settings&layout=default_main_workflow&child=general

To re-install you mean uninstall and then install a new complete version?
Would that mean I lose my current configurations and posts?

Hello PSX Web Team,

No, it will not lose your current configurations and the posts, if you re-install from your backend > extension manager > upload/install the latest version of EasyDiscuss installer zip file , it just overridden all the Easydiscuss file to be latest. Then check again the console from your setting page, if the error still showing out, try provide us about this information and provide us the file location of that error message, see my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/ouxCE6WP5hc

*Notice: If you have do some customization in your Easydiscuss file, you have to backup it before re-install.

Hi, thanks for trying to help. We've discovered the issue was that some of the media files were missing after the upgrade. So I manually unzipped the media folder and copied by FTP the files to the server and that solved my problem. I think you might have a bug in the installation by zip process somewhere. I found the solution by following the fix provided here http://stackideas.com/forums/warning-filemtime-function-filemtime-stat-failed

Kind regards,

James
