Cannot change the catagorie of an event or group

Cannot change the catagorie of an event

When a user creates an event/group, but it is in the wrong categorie, it is impossible to move/change the categorie of that event/group. The user/admin has to delete the event/group and has to create it al over again, but then in the right categorie. Changing the categorie of an event/group would be really handy. I believe this was possible, but somehow now it is not anymore?

Also I noticed that in the backend, the 'other actions' button does not work. nothing happens when clicking on it. I have a feeling those problems are related to each other (one of the other actions is probably changing the categorie :-))

Not able to change the categorie and the not working 'other actions' button in the backend applies voor events, but also for groups. The same problems are there.

I haven't tested it myself, but I would not be surprised if this problem is also present with the marketplace and pages...

Regarding the cannot change the category, do you mean that you cannot change the category due to the other action button?

If yes, it is a known issue on Joomla 4.0.4 for the other action button and we had logged this into our issue tracker already.

I dont know if the 'cannot change categorie' has something to do with the other action button. I would not be surprised if it is. That button does not work so I dont know what menu options are under that button. Maybe one of the other actions is: change categorie?

Fact remains, I cannot change categories of events and groups (and probably also for pages and the marketplace). Lets say You have 3 categories. General, automotive and engines.

If You have a group in categorie General, and You want to change the categorie to engines because user has put it in the wrong categorie for a start, that is not possible to do.

You cannot change the categorie of existing events, groups (and possible also pages and marketplace) in the backend.

You can download and paste the attached default.js file at JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/themes/default/structure/default.js for the fix.

Can you give it a try and see how it goes?
