When admins create an Event from within a Group, attendees cannot attend. They are approved, but still denied access. I'm looking for what setting would cause these events to block all users but the creator of the event.
Hi Griffin,
I have tested this with a test user and I am able to view the group event page without restriction once I have joined the group.
If the user that is used is already apart of that closed group and is still having issues viewing the event, can you provide me the user's login info so I can test this? Thanks.

Here is a student account assigned to each group, and the group events. This account can view the group, and the event is listed in "My Events"... but is denied access.

I am adding the front end user to the details.

Hey Griffin,
Looks like there is a bug here where the system is checking for the user's event creation permission when trying to view the event page.
I will log this issue in our tracker so the devs can address this.
In the meantime, if you want a temporary fix, I have attached a file which you can apply into the directory below. Remember to backup the files beforehand.
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/group/group.php
Let us know how it goes.

I have enabled event creation for the Student Profile Type group for now. Please let me know when the fix is released and we will update.
With event creation open, there are no access issues.

Thanks.
