Hello,

I have a number pf blogs post that have been created with the easyblog composer editor. I am finding this editor very limiting and somewhat buggy when doing simple formatting such as bullet points and indentions. I want to change the editors of all those post to JCE but I am only seeing this work when I create a new post. I Hope I do not need to recreate dozens of post just to have a better editor. Please advise.

Thanks,
Derek
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It's actually the default behavior of EasyBlog 5. When a post was initially created using a built-in editor, it will use the built-in editor for future editing.

The reason is because when editing with the build-in editor, it actually contains tons of rich meta data that will be incompatible with WYSIWYG editors. There is no way to add cross compatibility between the new composer and WYSIWYG editor

Hi Alex,

I have updated most of my post to use the JCE Editor. However, I want my authors to have the option to use JCE or the Composer. I have made two blank templates for each editor but they only show up depending on what the default editor settings are. I don't see why that should impact the templates.

Right now, I have a mix published post created with both editors and I am able to duplicate either or and continue to use the editor of the original post regardless of the default editor settings. Is it possible to have the default editor NOT impact the list of templates? This seems like a great way to allow ALL editors to be available all the time simply by choosing a desired template from the frontend.

Let me know what you think?

Hey there,

Unfortunately currently that is not possible to allow user to choose what editor they want to use, it only respect the global editor setting from Easyblog.

Regarding with your second question, do you mean you would like this post template (screenshot : http://take.ms/RZjxh) appear on the JCE editor as well?

Or you mean you would like to set a default post template on the site so those blogger who want to compose their blog post, it will load that default template directly without choose any template?

Hi Arlex,

I am going to set my default editor as composer and I want the have my JCE Editor Template viewable per your (screenshot : http://take.ms/RZjxh) This will allow my authors access to both editors. I am not giving them permissions to the settings to change the editor and I sure don't wish do to it upon requests.

Right now, I have a draft post set up with the JCE editor and I assigned it to the author. They need to duplicate the draft and edit the dupe so they do not lose the draft/template with the JCE Editor. This is a sloppy workaround and I would prefer ALL templates to be available regardless of the default editor.

Is that possible or do you have a better suggestion?

Thanks,

Hey Derek,

If those post template created using JCE editor, that is not possible to allow user to view these template if you open build-in composer is because system do not know how to render this template in build-in composer.

Since you already decide to use build-in composer editor, perhaps you can consider to re-create those existing template to use build-in composer?

I was just looking for a simple option for authors to use both editors on the fly. I will keep a draft post to as an alternative template instead.

Thanks,
