The categories nest nicely in the EasyBlog categories. Nice.

When I am trying to add a category to a blog that also nests very nicely.

However, when I am wanting to select a category using the Blog Entries filters I see a list of all categories in alphabetical order. Is there an option to use nested instead of alphabetical? This way the categories could match.

On my site I have three different user purposes/groups and so there are three top level categories and all the other categories are nested under those three. And, they do not share categories and subcategories. We use tags for sharing instead.

Thanks for letting me know if this is built in already.
Hi Sean Carney,

Correct me if I'm wrong here, do you mean you want the categories display to be in the nested view like this? http://screencast.com/t/IbdoFlV5C
If yes, unfortunately it is not possible to make the category can be pull downs for category selection currently

Hmmm.. Interesting. I believe what I am asking should be very possible. In fact it seems like the correct way to do things. K2 has been doing it for years. (But, I still moved from K2 to EasyBlog for other reasons)

I will give you a screenshot of a K2 Items selection page where you can filter by Category and it will also include the subcategories. If you select a Category it will also display the items from a subcategory.

Hi Sean Carney,

Ah, you mean layout for the backend? I thought you talking about the layout from the front end Sorry for the misunderstanding
For now the filter will be in the alphabetically, perhaps you can voice it out in our voice page here: https://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog
So our developers can keep track the feature that we can implement in the next release

Yes, I had redundant tickets about this. Sorry. I have put this in Voices. It sure makes sense. It is how Joomla does it and also how K2 does it so we would be in Good company setting up EasyBlog the same way.

For anybody following this thread. The good news is that I have been informed this will be added to the next version of EasyBlog 5.1. That is very good news to me. :-)

StackIdeas is always great. Thanks again.
