Hello Stackideas,

I have tried to upgrade to EasyBlog 5.2.5, but I get the error message:
"Error updating component when using the API from Joomla. Please try again."

I am using all EasyComponents in various websites, not only the licensed one.
I have noticed, there are some closed tickets related to this issue.
But no solution is actually mentioned there.

What is the reason for the error?

Kind regards
Andre
You can try download the latest launcher installer from https://stackideas.com/dashboard then upload this through your site backend installer page then proceed that installation.

If this way still can't, perhaps you can update your site backend and FTP access at your first post so we can better have a check.

i have this issue on every update. i have to download the launcher each time there is an update 5.2.1->5.2.2, 5.2.2->5.2.3, etc etc.

i keep hoping each time will be the last and that re-loading will make the automatic updating through joomla work, but it doesn't.

this issue seems to pop up on the forums quite often. when you see this, what turns out to be the fix?

i have seen other components need a manual db update on some joomla component files to make the update start working again. is that the case here?

Hi Barry,

The error "Error updating component when using the API from Joomla. Please try again." occurs when you use the single click updater on non-licensed domains.

This is why you would need to install EasyBlog using the installer for domains that are unlicensed.
