I have had no success in trying to install Easy Blog on my home computer. (I am developing my web site on my home computer before I transfer it to a web host.) I am running Apache server V 2.4.9 with PHP V. 5.5.12 and MySQL V. 5.6.17 on my computer.

I tried to install the EasyBlog via the Joomla backend using the Extension Manager Install function to upload and install the com_easyblog_pro_3.9.22295.zip file. When I clicked “Upload & Install” the Joomla logo appears and then nothing happens, no confirmation of install and no error message.

I can’t figure out how to try to install it from a directory because there is no “Easy Blog” subdirectory in my Joomla directory, nor is there an “Easy Blog” directory in the .zip file. Your instructions don’t explain how to find or create the EasyBlog directory.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve
Hello Steven,

Can you check in your php.ini information and see what's the value for the following?

upload_max_filesize
post_max_size

I was finally able to install from the directory after I found the following page :

You really should add this information about creating the easy blog directory and extracting the files in your pdf instruction guide:
http://stackideas.com/guides/easyblog.pdf

It would have made my life easier.

Hello Steven,

Thanks for the heads up on this and I appreciate your feedback on this. With EasyBlog 5 making it's way, we've actually revamped the entire installation process and we're also using a new documentation altogether.
