May i know which video source you tested in your blog post? So we can try to reproduce on this issues in your site and see what is the issues come from. Please advise.

I also tried embedding a YouTube video but was unsuccessful so I know the problem is not confined to the video source. I tried embedding other codes as well but I only had success with some. I suspect it might be a script issue. For example, I'm able to embed tables using HTML.

Make sure that you set text filtering off on your global configuration, Administrator and superuser are default to no filter

In your editor please turn off filtering script, in tiny-MCE your can should remove script in the prohibited elements. I had removed them for you.
