I am using the Mega Menu of Helix Ultimate on the Charm template. I would like to figure a way to not show all the levels of child menus because my site can be very deep and the menus would be just too crowded.

Instead, I want to limit to one or maybe two child categories and then on each category page also display somehow the subcategories.

Is there a way to do this?

For example on the Shop menu I am thinking to only display the four top level child pages and then have every page display the subcategories of that page. I will open a separate ticket about the subcategories though.

Being able to restrict the depth of child categories displayed on a mega menu page would really be great if it could be configurable somehow to not have to always keep the same depth of child categories.

On the page I have attached I am thinking it would be desirable to only display the top level pages that are in bold.

For other sections of my site it will be really messy to try to display all the levels of child categories in the menus.

Instead, I hope to display the subcategories in some other way on the page.

Hey there,

To only display the top level pages that are in bold head to backend -> Menus -> Main menu and disable the child categories by clicking on the ✓ symbol next to them.

That is an interesting idea. But, I believe that would also disable those subcategories from being displayed on the site.

I am not wanting to remove the subcategories from the site. In fact, I am needing more subcategories to be added by adding more menu items that link to these subcategories.

What I want to do is not display all the levels of subcategories in the Mega Menu but to list the subcategories in the blog pages of the parent categories.

I am needing to add many more menu items in order to get clean SEO urls that I presently do not have. But, I just don't want to have all the menu items displayed in the Mega Menu.

I hope this makes sense.

Actually, I just came up with an idea that will probably work. I will get back to you on it. It will not require me to worry about the Mega Menu at all. Instead I will create a new menu for each of my nine menu headings. Then I will completely rebuild the main menu and it will only be aliases to the other menus. So, there will be no real menu items just aliases in the main menu which will be the menu that is displayed in the Mega Menu. At that point I will only build two layers into the Main Menu and if at any time I want a third layer in my Mega Menu I would just add some menu aliases to the main menu.

This should work. I will let you know.

Basically I am looking for simple urls that are completely menu driven. This will create urls like
https://www.dev2.carneycorner.com/data/drug-medications/statins/statin-treatment-causes-an-increased-risk-of-type-2-diabetes

instead of
