Disregard or possibly delete this post. I was wrong on what was happening.

First please let me say that the support give to all of my topics so far has been great. I feel like a problem child as I keep having to post a new topic. But we have been having some serious issues with EasyBlog 5 and our Joomla multisite install using MightySites. Before EasyBlog 5 we were not experiencing anything like this for over 2 years.

This could because due to a bad upgrade process, I've been posting a lot of topics as I try to get things working. Basically when I upgraded EasyBlog on my main site, the other sites all stopped working. I've been needing to run SQL fixes by hand with the guidance of your support. This has made me very nervous to update at all anymore because of the chaos that happened during the last update.

The idea of MightySites is that you can share database tables throughout the various sites. I don't even try to do this with EasyBlog. We have 10 different sites and I want them to all have independent EasyBlog setups. But I think somehow the multisite setup must be affecting EasyBlog and/or the upgrade/install process.

Just today I had a story posted here correctly https://neuroscience.utexas.edu/news/entry/dr-laura-colgin-receives-nsf-career-award.

However this created an unpublished entry in another sites table(https://cns.utexas.edu/), and then notified all of the subscribers for that site. Which sent them all a bad link via email that 404'd.

There is no reason that an entry should be cross site posted with the current setup, I believe that something must be wrong with the database on the original site the article was posted. https://neuroscience.utexas.edu/ However running the provided database tool doesn't fix anything or even report a problem.

I also have some sites where the admin Components -> EasyBlog menu doesn't look quite right which worries me that there are more issues I am not aware of.

I have genuinely really liked using EasyBlog up until this point, but the last few weeks have been very frustrating. I don't think my sites have fully recovered from the upgrade to EasyBlog5 and a lot of my customers are very unhappy. Can you please advise? I'm going to try getting a full dev copy of the multisite set somewhere and can give you access once that is done.

Is going back to v3.9 an option? I would assume no, but we didn't have these issues before.

Thank you for your time.
Hey there,

To be honest, I am not really sure how does "Mighty Sites" work. Do they span a different database for each of your websites? If it is spanning a different database, I really don't see how publishing a blog post on "site 1" also stores the post on "site 2".

What I think actually happened with Mighty Sites is that they are storing all these posts on the same database and they are probably writing an adapter for EasyBlog so that each blog posts are stored accordingly.

What I strongly suggest you to do is to get in touch with the author of Mighty Sites to clarify on how their architecture is currently built on.

So new information has come to light and it turns out that the posting was not cross posted. They accidentally posted it twice, once on both sites then tried to delete the first one quickly.

While we are still having some troubles, the major issue I thought we were having is resolved. Not EasyBlogs fault, just communication on our end.

Thank you for your fast response. I was envisioning tons of work to get things resolved and was getting frustrated.

Thanks for updating me on this and appreciate your insights on this. We're still fine tuning on EasyBlog 5 and believe me, we are getting there. I know it has been frustrating for you currently but we're trying our best to address all the issues we can find in it. It has been a really huge leap for us since 3.9 and we're only wanting the best for everyone
