Hi there,

To be honest I kinda presumed this feature exists as it is possible for a user to edit their own comment (if we set it on the profile settings). Am I missing something? Is it really not possible to edit your own post?

Thanks in advance!
That's not possible but you can change it so that users can edit their own comments.

It's better not to allow edit on post to preserve it and not get abused.

A better approach for ES is to include a edit "window" for the first minute after posting so corrections can be made. A large "window" would be pointless in my opinion.

Hello guys,

You can already edit your own posts in the stream but this is only limited to posts that contains plain text only.

Hi Mark,

Can you please explain where. I am an admin and i cannot edit my own comments on my timeline or newsfeed. When you say 'stream', where is that?

Hi David,

You should be able to see the edit item link in your dashboard page. Please see http://screencast.com/t/OBU2p4SnGl
Hope this help and have a nice day

PS. This feature only available in version 1.2.8

Hi Sam,

I am sorry but I see that on my newsfeed, or timeline, or anywhere to be honest.

Hello David,

The "Edit" option is only available if you are posting a "text" update on the stream. I have tested this on your site and it does allow me to edit but there seems to be a missing language string on the site though. See my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/OJ2Oq1ViF

Hi Mark,

Do you know why is there a missing language there? How can it be fixed?

Hi Mark, is this feature enable by default? I am unable to see an edit button for my text stream. Only see hide and delete feeds. I am on 1.2.8

Yeah, it is enabled by default and do take note that editing would only work if you post a "text" status update.

Hello David,

Sorry, missed your post earlier as someone else posted something here. This is why I never liked the idea of cross posting. Anyway, it's either that you were using one of the older "launcher" package to update or there was some permissions updating your language file.

You can fix this by adding the codes below into the language file /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easysocial.ini

COM_EASYSOCIAL_STREAM_EDIT="Edit this item"
