We have a large college community website, but we want some photo albums to be viewed only by the graduates of a certain year.

They do not want their photos to be viewed by all. So there are two options...

1. The simplest way is to create a Joomla user group, add the 100 graduates who can view an album to that group, and then make the album viewable ONLY by that group.

2. Or click on each photo and then select Privacy (globe icon), and then Custom, and select who can view that photo. This will be a pain if there are hundreds of photos and 100 users.

Obviously, option 1 would be great, but can it be done?

Can you suggest a solution please!

Thanks!
Hey there,

Actually, you can just do this step on the album instead of each photos. https://take.ms/UvK9P

Hey there,

Unfortunately, currently that is not possible to allow user to set which Joomla user group users can view the album.

Thanks for clarifying. There is a workaround for this:click on the album, edit, and click on the gear icon for each picture, and the globe icon. Select "Custom" and manually select the users who should be allowed to view that picture.

Obviously, if you have dozens of pictures and lots of users, doing this manually will be a huge pain, but it can be done. : )

Currently, that's the only workaround I could find.
