Is it possible to add in future versions EasySocial the button - Copy for the categories events and groups.
For each category, configure custom fields is very inconvenient.
Thanks for the input on this but feature suggestions should be added on http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial

Hi Mel,
You should see a 'Save as Copy' button in the cluster category page: http://take.ms/Ds6ft

Hi Raymond,

thanks.

For me it is needed in the front end so users can create a copy of an existing group - to be able to use the Save As function.

Is this something that may come? It would be amazing!

Kind regards

Mel

Hey Mel,
If you create a new group under the same category, the custom field present in the group would be the same or what is set in the category, so there's really no need for this in the frontend.

Thanks for this function. Is it possible to make the ability to save customized categories as the default category. Or to make it through PhpMyAdmin. That when clicking the 'New' button make category with the fields which are set up by me.

Hi Albert,
The workflow that you mentioned is not possible because we do not have 'default' cluster category in EasySocial.

Hi Raymond I get you

For me, my need was slightly different. But thinking about it, it is probably impossible. I basically wanted to be able to duplicate a group with a default set of milestones and tasks to save users having to re-build them each time. So I thought if a user had created their group with the milestones and tasks built, they could just duplicate it then add the new details such as group name etc. I don't suppose we can put default milestones and tasks in certain group categories?

Hey Mel,
I see. To answer your question, saving group as copy will not transfer over their data like those in the app. It will only transfer over custom field data.
Milestones and tasks are not custom fields, they are apps within EasySocial, so they cannot be included in group categories.
