Hello,

When migrating from Easyblog 3.9.24862 to 5.0.30 It always fails with the json returning a database error. You can then yes, find the errors add the columns until you can access the migration tool and database fix. But another headace. This is because you are trying to insert into the __easyblog_acl table with a group value. But the group column hasn't yet been added. Once I add this prior to the migration/update it works successfully.

I have to manually insert a column on around 100sites to update easyblog now and it's quite a ballache.

Many thanks
Tony
Hey Stephen,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Thanks for your reported, can you try this following step in one of your site and see how it goes?

Step1 : Download the new EasyBlog 5.0.x installer file. Select the "Download Full Package" installer from our site http://stackideas.com/dashboard.

Step2 : Next, go to your Joomla backend extension manager and uninstall your EasyBlog 3.9x. Do not worry, uninstalling your existing EasyBlog will not remove your data records from your database.

Step3 : Once you've successfully uninstall your existing EasyBlog, you can then reinstall EasyBlog 5.0.x like how you usually install other 3rd party component.

*We advise you to do a full backup of your site ( including database ) before you perform the upgrades.

If the issue still persists, can you provide us one of your site Joomla backend, FTP, PHPMYADMIN access so we can troubleshoot on this? Because I test in my locally, it seems work fine.

Hello,

I don't think you are quite following me.

I am reporting a bug not asking for a solution, I've already told you the issue. I know how to solve it, but your component shouldn't need solutions for an update, it should simply install.

Many thanks
Tony

hey Stephen,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Yes, I knew you are reported this issue, but I can't replicate in our test site.

I would love to check this issue, perhaps you can provide us one of your site access so we can replicate this issue and solve this once for all?
