Sorry for the late reply as it's the weekends. If you are upgrading from 3.8 please head over to the dashboard page http://stackideas.com/dashboard and get the latest downloads to install manually, We've recently made changes to a lot of core file thus the updater is only working for 3.9 and above. If you need further help please send us your backend and FTP access. Hope this helps.

Please don't apologise....wasn't expecting an answer until Monday.

I have tried to download the package from the site, as mentioned, it gets to 4.2Mb and stops...just sites there.

I'll try from another machine when I get a moment but thought I'd give you a heads up.
