Tech Support:
I have been reading the archives trying to figure out the best way to migrate my daughter’s Blogspot blog to EasyBlog. Since Blogspot is one of the biggest online blog sites I naturally figured that you already had a dedicated Blogspot migrator. It appears I was wrong.
So what is the preferred method to migrate about 100 Blogspot entries that have text and photos?
I clicked on the built-in EasyBlog migrators, but none seemed like the right choice. I found one Forum post that talked about converting the Blogspot first to Posterous and I read your How To article, “Setting up Posterous integrations” but I was wondering if that is the preferred method.
Does anybody have any experienced based recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Michael,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. You will need to export the XML from and use the EasyBlog Blogger XML migrator to migrate the blog posts. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Thanks for helping with that. Here are the issues I have been and am running into.
ISSUE #1 - There are 195 Blogpost entries. I was able to get the XML file just fine. I followed your instructions on the migrator page. I then started the process and 39 entires migrated and I waited about 20 minutes completely fearful to stop. I finally did refresh the page worried that I really screwed everything up. I started it again using a different category, thinking that if it were going to re-import that I could delete a prior category. Yep, 39 more and it stopped (although the indicator kept spinning). I added more categories and kept up until all 195 entries have been moved over.
ISSUE #2 - It migrated the entries with the Administrator being the author and I can’t figure out how to batch change the author to my daughter. I suppose I could open up all 195 entries separately, but there must be an easier way.... Is there?
I will bring the site back online in a few minutes and then I will know more about the success of my migration.
Thanks again for your help and advice!

I don't understand how to do the migration. The directions for Blogger XML importer state: To use this migrator, copy your xml file you've exported from Blogger export tool into your Joomla folder 'JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easyblog/xmlfiles/blogger'.
EasyBlog will automatically detect the xml file from this folder.

Where exactly do I find this file: 'JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easyblog/xmlfiles/blogger'?

Hello Kyle,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. You will need to access your FTP and then create the directories for

JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easyblog/xmlfiles/blogger

and place your XML file here. If you need help with this please provide me with your backend and FTP access. Please advice.

Thanks!
