I have a question to Send by e-mail.
I understand it correctly, that all bloggers can write only in a fixed category?

Is it possible that any user can write in a separate category?
Defined via an input line in the e-mail. For example:

Cat: D1
Lorem ipsum ......

How does blogging properly about e-mail?

Thx
Hello Otmar,

Currently, it is not possible to post to separate category via email. Can you elaborate more on this question?

Hi this is because my english is no good and i used google-translation ;-) Now without translation.

We are a soccer club.

We have more than 20 teams. Named A1, B1, C1, C2, D1, D2, D3, E1, E2, ..... and so on.
In our Website every team has an own region with its news in it.
Therefore i asigned for every team a category. As a User i can select the category when i am writing a post.
So all works fine. In every team"site" (menu-selection) i see the news for the team selected.

I´d decided for better handling that i should define teamblogs. (A1-teamblog, B1-teamblog....). Every teamblog has one or more user in it. So i dont assign every user to a categorie. I wanted to realise this with teamblogs.
At this point i expect that when a user is writing a post the post will be in the right categorie.
The post is on the frontpage as well on the teamsite.
so far it works.

But our users dont really like it to post with "browser - login - post - manually" at home. While her kids are playing soccer they want to write a post with a photo and send it to the homepage. But they wouldnt buy a App for smart- or iphones. But they have a mail-client.

My idea was now that the users should use an e-mail client to send the posts via the e-mail-function of easyblog with perhaps one picture as an attachement. After that easyblog will create a post for "Team-A1" to "Team-A1-Blog" in catergorie "A1". A single user respectivly into, to him, assigned categorie.

Finally.
The Post than should be visible on the frontpage (easyblog) and in the right teammenu with that picture in it.

But i think that is impossible yet. Is there another way to give more comfort to my users? is there a better solution`?

Rgrds

i´ve forgotten. of course every user has an e-mail-adress assigned to his userprofile. this should be the key to decide from wich user to wich categorie / teamblog the post should created.

Hey Otmar,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is actually a public day off for us here. Unfortunately it isn't possible for users email to be mapped under different category / team currently

The email publishing in EasyBlog however allows the blog post to be mapped to the user that sends the email. For instance,

user 1 - user1@domain.com
user 2 - user2@domain.com

If user2@domain.com sends an email to the blog mail, a blog post will be created on the site by user 2

ok, perhaps in the future?
i think the users should use the e-mail blogging. i´ll assign a spec. categorie "e-mail-posts" after that i manually change the categories in the posts. it is a workaround for me but with < 30 posts on every weekend i can do it.

Your support ist really really good. And very fast. Thank you.

Hey Otmar,

Perhaps we could consider this in the future but it would probably be something like EasyDiscuss where each blog category has a different email. So your users could send to category1@email.com to post into category1 and category2@email.com, so on and so forth.

Please do feel free to post your feature requests idea at http://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog so that when we kickstart EasyBlog 5.1, we have more ideas to pick from
