I am unable to see my post thumbnail images all of a sudden after uploading my site from localhost to a liver server. I can see the cover image but not the blog image. It's showing as a broken link, although when I view the broken link location the image does exist in the media manager.

It seems like the link location is still pointing to localhost (http://localhost/dod-localnew/images/easyblog_articles/197/b2ap3_thumbnail_Ballybrack.jpg).

My site details are included.
Hello Johnny,

I need to check with my colleague tomorrow if he has done any changes (as it is after office hours now)

However, to extend what he has mentioned earlier, EasyBlog 5.0 solves a random issue where using relative image path causes problems on some hosting environment. I was told it was due to their htaccess.

With EasyBlog 5.1, we are going to revamp this behavior and the site admin would be able to choose if they want to use relative or absolute urls for images embedded from our own media manager.

Hi Johnny,

Correct, seems like it still using the local link instead your live site link. I've rec-choose image https://www.screencast.com/t/rVAamNAgE8bY and re-saved the blog post, now it shows the image correctly.

Ok.. so how do I fix it and why did it happen?

I have lots of articles, I can't be expected to do this for each one? All my other images are fine.

Is this a bug in the software? Is there a quicker way to fix this?

Hi Johnny,

As you using built-in composer, by default image will stored as absolute url so it still using your local path image

-> Currently we can change the absolute path to your exact domain by run php scripts. May I know your exact domain? so we can change the url. So we help you to change the url in your subdomain first and we can proceed to your exact domain. In order to run the php script, we need your FTP access.

You can add the information needed by edit your first post in the Details section or you can just include your site's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site rather than needing to keep adding them in your replies

Hi Muhammad,

So, does this mean that I can't move my site between domains? That can't be correct, people move their sites between domains all the time.

My site is currently on a live server but this is only temporary, I will need to move it again to my client's live server.
What if I then have to move it again somewhere else in 6 months?

Any movement on this? Unfortunately it's severely holding back my development work.

Hi Johnny,

As we concern for this issue, I've extends this issue to our developers and they've conclude to make the image to store as relative url for our incoming major release version5.1.(restructuring built-in composer is one of the concern).
For the time being, you can request us to run php scripts to change your image absolute path.

AM I able to run these scripts myself? The reason I ask is because I'm likely to move this site between a number of temporary domains over the next few weeks, I can't always expect your support to do this for me.

It's a real shame that the links are absolute in composer

Hi Johnny,

To be honest, the process of changing the path requires a lots of work and time (possibly restructuring the whole composer itself )
Hence we decided to work on this changes along with the development of 5.1

Hi Mark,

Did you get a chance to speak to your colleague to confirm if he made any changes or not? Just to confirm, I don't need any changes made, as it all seems to be working (strangely).

Thanks

Hi Johnny,

I've not make any changes in your core file. I've re-save some of the blog post in your site previously.
