Blog subscription to category not working correctly

After subscription i get an email that looks like this: You've subscribed to category ' ' at link ...
Sometimes it works fine and sometimes it subscribes to category 0 which doesnt exist. Even when i am using the same link to subscribe. I dont understand how it can have such inconsistent behaviour

Please help me with this. A list of all the files which get run between clicking on the link and the email being sent would be useful.

I have tried subscribe with your blog subscription function, it seems like work fine for me.
Do you mean that subscription is fine, is it the subscription data doesn't go through in your backend?
is it possible provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this issues? Please advise.

Im sorry but i cant grant you access. It only worked the first time for you with email arlex.wong@stackideas.com but when you tried with stackideas2@hotmail.com and stackideas222@hotmail.com it subscribed you to category 0 which doesnt exist - look at attached image. I have removed your subscription so you can test again with same email

BTW i am a developer and am comfortable with php and mysql

I cannot give you access to our production server (company policy) and qa is not set up for ftp.
I will set up ftp and try to reproduce on qa. Does email service need to be set up to reproduce aswell?

An alternative which would be easier for me would be to send you a copy of the files and database. Would that be ok?

the username called stackideas1, stackideas2, stackideas3, can i see the result ?

When you're done your FTP set up let us know. keep us updated then.

stackideas1, = worked fine
stackideas2, stackideas3 = did not work - subscribed to category with id 0

By the way, what Easyblog theme are you using? Could you mind change to another theme is it showing same issues?

Because i have checked in your Easyblog version, it seems like you still using older version "3.8.14576".

Tried changing theme - still same issue. My admins tell me i cant grant you access to our qa either. Am waiting for them to provide me with acceptable solution.

My admins say that i can give you temporary access to production server, ftp and site for about 2 hours on monday between 10am and 12am GMT+1 (17h-19h your time) Is this acceptable for you or will another time be better?
I will send you usernames and passwords on monday if you agree.

That great, do you mean that our time around at 7pm to 9pm right? but i'm not sure can find out the solution within 2 hour.
