If a user is subscribed to an entire blog, not just a single post, does s/he automatically receive all comments posted on any blog posts in that blog?
When a comment is made on a blog post, only users who are subscribed to the entry are notified. It does not notify everyone who subscribed to the site wide.

Thanks for confirming Mark. I was hoping this would be the case.
Brings up two more small questions:

1. Can you then confirm that a "blog" subscriber will receive notifications of any new blog entries.. in the blog for which they are subscribed?

2. What is the simplest and most attractive method of adding an option for users to 'subscribe to the entire blog".

Cheers,
G

Hi Gilles,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. Please find my answers from your inquiries below.

1. Can you then confirm that a "blog" subscriber will receive notifications of any new blog entries.. in the blog for which they are subscribed?

Entry subscribers will not receive new notification when there are new blog posted on your site. They will get notified when there are new comment made inside the blog that they are subscribe to.

2. What is the simplest and most attractive method of adding an option for users to 'subscribe to the entire blog".

You can try to use easyblog subscribe module and display the module at the most attractive position on your site, for example banner position and fixed sidebar position if there any.

Good info.... Thanks!
I actually used a copy of the the html button code/link created by a temp subscribe module since I wanted to change the button text and add some "before text" ahead of the subscribe button.
Cheers

Hi Gilles,

You are welcome. There are a lot of methods that can achieve this but the quickest way is to use the existing subscribe module and place the module according to your need.
