We have a major issue with Blog posts somehow unpublishing themselves! We recently moved servers and everything was fine for a week or so then suddenly we have Posts disappearing off the Blog. Looking into the back end they are still there but set to not be published??

Has anyone ever had this issue and what can I do to sort it.

Also I am a bit wary of uninstalling and reinstalling 3.9, will all my posts still be there?

Chris.
Hello Chris,

Is there any specific blog posts that was unpublished? I need to take a look at the blog post to see the properties of the blog post. Can you pass me the titles of the blog posts that was unpublished?

I'm wondering if the change in host has affected something?

Hello Chris,

I am sorry but I am not entirely sure if I understand you correctly here. Do you mean every blog post get's unpublished? I tried looking at the back end there are only several blog posts that are unpublished. Can I know which particular blog post are you referring to here?

I don't think any change on the host would cause this. The only possibility of this could only be caused by the "unpublish date" if you have set an unpublish date for the blog post.

Ok sorry, maybe I didn't explain well enough.

All our blog posts have an 'unpublish date' of never.
We have been publishing fine until two days ago
Suddenly the top 10 Blog posts disappeared and on checking we saw they were unpublished.
I re published them immediately.
Less than 24 hours later all the posts apart from one had unpublished.
I again republished them all
The latest blog post was published today around 12pm GMT. By 1pm it had unpublished itself and I had to go back in and re publish it again.
I was also unable to upload images until Thursday night when my host set 'image' permissions to 777!

We have absolutely no idea what is happening but as a very busy Blog we need to suss this out quickly so any help is great.

Chris.

Hello Chris,

Hm, that's very strange. When I checked the blog post "Photolive... what a weekend", it doesn't actually have an unpublish date and it should not be unpublished unless someone unpublishes it.

If it ever happens again, could you leave one of the blog post as it is and publish the rest so that I can see the particular blog post's data?

That's really the crux of the issue, is it possible, within the code, for a post to be unpublished or would it need to be physically done?
I'm basically asking if you think we've been hacked and someone is playing idiots!

Hello Chris,

Hm, there's only 2 possibilities of the blog post being unpublished:

1. Some one really did unpublished it.

2. You set an unpublish date on the blog post (We can iron out this since you did mention that the unpublish date wasn't set)

Other than the above, there's no way for a blog post to be unpublished. Do you have any users on the site that is the administrator or has access to manage blog posts on the site?
