All of our blogs post to this directory: http://www.christianbusinessnetwork.com/resources/blogs

However, Email Notification URL's of blog posts point to this directory: http://christianbusinessnetwork.com/component/easyblog

How do I ensure that all blog post URL's within email notifications point to this directory: http://www.christianbusinessnetwork.com/resources/blogs
Hi Michael Chetelat,

It seems like you are requesting support for http://www.christiaxxxxxxxxxxx.com but your licensed domain is cgnxxxxxx.com . Please understand that Pro versions only entitles you to support for 1 domain only.

Should you require support for additional domains, please consider upgrading your license to the Developer version or purchase an additional subscription for this site

How do I changed the licensed domain? We have always used EasyBlog for one single domain: http://www.ChristianBusinessNetwork.com. Are you speaking of "CBNGLOBA"? That is simply the the web hosting account name. We have been using EasyBlog and received support for its use on http://www.ChristianBusinessNetwork.com for two plus years now and have never had this been an issue. Please resolve ASAP.

Hi Michael Chetelat,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused for this. Seems there are miss-configured with your domain license. I'll check out the issue now. May I know, where do you publish your blog post as you mention above where the email notification url is different? and may I know did you install sh404sef in your site?
Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Why is this simple issue so difficult for you to resolve? Your question, "May I know, where do you publish your blog post as you mention above where the email notification URL is different?" has been answered above.

What is sh404sef?

We would prefer not to provide back-end access to our site at this time.

What do think the root cause is? Please provide specific questions regarding our configuration that I may answer.

Hey Michael,

Why is this simple issue so difficult for you to resolve? Your question, "May I know, where do you publish your blog post as you mention above where the email notification URL is different?" has been answered above.

We tested in our locally regarding this 3.x latest version, it seems work fine, you can refer on my attached screenshot below. I would love to help you to solve this issue quickly if you can provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can directly look into this issue.

Because there have a lots of possibility causing this issue :
1. Installed 3rd party SEF extension
2. Some of the plugin conflict it
3. Easyblog 3.x might not compatible with some of the Joomla version (I think 3.4 onward)
4. Menu structure conflict

What is sh404sef?

This is one of the SEF extension for build your site URL user-friendly.

We would prefer not to provide back-end access to our site at this time.

What do think the root cause is? Please provide specific questions regarding our configuration that I may answer.

Hm, May i know what is the reason you not prefer to provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access? Perhaps you have something else need to take care about? It would be best if you can share with us so that we can provide you some suggestion regarding this, because we really need to access your JOomla backend and FTP so that we can troubleshoot this issue, I hope you can understand.

hey there,

I've checked in your site, it seems like you have created duplicate `Easyblog frontpage layout` menu item (Wisdom@Work (Alias: blogs)) in `main menu`, I have help you disabled it, it should work fine now.

You can take a look of my attached screenshot below.

Hey Michael,

To be honestly, If you look at my previous reply above, What i did is just only disabled this menu item (Wisdom@Work (Alias: blogs)) from your backend `main menu`, you can take a look of my second screenshot above, I do not have touch/open/edit any file from your site, and another thing is I do not have your FTP access.

By the way, may i know do you still remember which file you customized before?

Also can you double check with this following file and see the `modified date` is it updated recently?
-> JoomlaRootFolder/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/email.blog.new.html.php (this is the new post email template file with HTML content format)

If you really need to fix your email template customization, please provide us with your FTP access so I can better have a check and see is it possible to add back your customization email content in your site.

There was a reason why our developer created that menu item. Should that item be re-enabled but fixed?

Also, the "email.blog.new.html.php" file within the Notifications settings is correct. Please advise.

When I disable that menu item, it will not affect your email customization.

By the way, I did tried publish new test post from your frontend, it will show correctly with your email customization content, you can refer on my attached first screenshot.

Yesterday what I did is resend the notification from backend, so it will use original email content (you can refer on my attached second screenshot).

Now you have to try create a new post from frontend and see the email notification is it show correctly the content, and the `view post` button is it point to correct page.

Arlex,

I posted a new (copy) blog post at 7:41 am and it posted the content and links correctly! THX.

How will blog posts that are already scheduled for posting be affected? Will I have to do anything to ensure that they post the content and links correctly?

Arlex,

Why are the URL's different for the same blog post?

Example: "Welcome to Your Death"
~ URL when blog selected from Home: http://christianbusinessnetwork.com/resources/blogs?view=entry&id=842
~ URL when blog selected from http://christianbusinessnetwork.com/resources/blogs/entry/welcome-to-your-death

We want links to be SEO friendly.

Please advise.

Hey Michael,

Example: "Welcome to Your Death"
~ URL when blog selected from Home: http://christianbusinessnetwork.com/resources/blogs?view=entry&id=842
~ URL when blog selected from http://christianbusinessnetwork.com/resources/blogs/entry/welcome-to-your-death

Actually that was known issue when you using very older version of Easyblog 3.x in Joomla 3.4 onward, because Joomla did updated their router code which causing older version of Easyblog not compatible with Joomla 3.4 onward version.

I would always recommended our customer update their Easyblog 3.x to Easyblog 5.x, all of your current issue will be solve in Easyblog 5 which compatible with Joomla 3.4 onward version until 3.6.2 version.

Arlex,

We would love to upgrade to 5.x of EasyBlog, but our developer thinks it will take him days to make the transition. He says that we will have to re-enter every blog post now published. What do you think?

We plan to do upgrade, but only when we can afford the time to make that happen.

Also, if we upgrade to the latest version of EB 3.x, will that resolve anything?

hey there,

Actually I am confuse what your developer mean `re-enter every blog post now published`? Because the upgrade process will not affect your existing blog content. But I would like suggest you consult with your developer and see how many core file he customized in Easyblog? Because once you upgrade to Easyblog 5, all of your customization file will get override to original code.

We plan to do upgrade, but only when we can afford the time to make that happen.

Yes, it will fix this following issue what you described at above and the email URL as well.
Example: "Welcome to Your Death"
~ URL when blog selected from Home: http://christianbusinessnetwork.com/resources/blogs?view=entry&id=842
~ URL when blog selected from http://christianbusinessnetwork.com/resources/blogs/entry/welcome-to-your-death

Arlex, for some unknown reason beginning this morning, links to blog post within email notifications now direct recipients to "https://media.christianbusinessnetwork.com/resources/blogs?view=entry&id=352". How did "media" get added to the URL? We did NOTHING on our end to make this happen. Please HELP and advise. Michael

Hi Arlex,

Unfortunately, your suggested steps to resolve our issue was unsuccessful. We may start completely over with EB 5.x. What folder contains all of our previous blog posts. We want to save them offline for re-posting once we upgrade. We attempted to upgrade before but no previous posts appeared. Given that we paid for annual support, would you be able to handle the actual upgrade to EB 5.x?

Hey Michael,

What folder contains all of our previous blog posts.

Actually that is not call folder, all of your existing blog post will stored in your database under this table `#__easyblog_post`.

We want to save them offline for re-posting once we upgrade.

Actually you do not need to re-posting your existing post after updated to Easyblog 5.

We attempted to upgrade before but no previous posts appeared. Given that we paid for annual support, would you be able to handle the actual upgrade to EB 5.x?

Yes, I will assist you on this, but you have to backup your existing data from your database, in case any happen, the data still exist on your backup.

If you would like us to help you upgrade to Easyblog 5, this is what we need :
1. PHPMYADMIN access (database)
2. FTP access
3. Joomla backend accesss

What do you mean by "PHPMYADMIN access (database)"? Access to the PHP files & folders, or access to the C-Panel?

Hello Michael,

What my colleague actually meant, was the phpmyadmin url and the username / password to access phpmyadmin. If you are unsure because you use cpanel, then you could also provide us with your cpanel access instead.

By the way, please remember to set the domain name christianbusinessnetwork.com under your license at https://stackideas.com/dashboard
