On our site http://www.impliedmagazine.com, the Blog listings continue to show the entire text of the blog post, instead of just the Introtext and Continue Reading link. I went to Settings - Layout - Truncation, but despite enabling Automatic Truncation, it still doesn't seem to work. What are we missing here?
Hi Tony,

It seems like your blog post are created with legacy editor and the truncation will follow the settings from my screenshot here instead, http://screencast.com/t/39UYVyCMj3e .

Please have a look.

Hey Tony,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

To add your access, simply edit your first post above or head on to http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site to insert your site access once only.

Okay, well, I just disabled that part, but the truncation still doesn't work. The entire blog post is still showing on the Journal page.

In short, I want only the text leading up to the ReadMore insert to display on the main Journal page, so that they have to click Continue Reading to see the entire post. What am I missing now?

Hi Tony,

I am sorry for the confusion here. You need to enable Automated Truncation (Normal Posts) in order for the truncation to kick in. I've helped you to enable the options and the truncation is now showing correctly on your blog frontpage. Please have a look.

Ahh, I see what you did. One question, though, why is that setting in the Legacy section, if the post was created in the normal editor? I just want to make sure I understand how everything works.

The Legacy section setting is for posts created using normal/native editors or all editors that are not EasyBlog's Composer. Since the posts is created using other editors that are not EasyBlog's composer, their settings are under the legacy section and not the composer's.

We have to keep the settings separate for the legacy editors and composer due to system issues.

I hope this answers your question

I definitely understand that, but I'm still confused because of the fact that I did use EasyBlog's Composer when creating that post. I'm missing something, I guess, but as long as it's working now, I assume not to worry.
