Do you have a 'How To' document or previous post on putting the first image of the blog in the post.new.php email template. I thought in older versions that the email notifications had the first image of the blog, but I noticed it is not included any more in the new releases.
I am sorry for the confusion here, by default it will not show any first image on email content.

Without enable email truncation :
- It will show all the blog content even image.

Enable Email truncation :
- It will not show any image.

By the way, i will discuss with our developer regarding this and see whether that is possible to add this in the future version.

Hi Sam Ray,

Image content in the new post email notification actually depend on truncation setting in :
Settings>notifications>blogs>contents settings: https://www.screencast.com/t/tAzibDQJMk

Hi,

I would like to truncate some characters so the subscriber will click "View Post" to read the article from my web site, which accumulate hits and get them to view additional material online.

Is there a character limit I should put in to get the first image to display?

If not, is it possible to add an option to get the image or post cover so it looks similar to the article category view?

http://z1naz.org/index.php/en/coming-up/news

See attached, which shows the truncated words and the first image... It would be great if the email notification could be the same

I will try removing all truncation as you suggested to see if the image is displayed, but please consider the above suggestions also.

Hi Sam,

Kindly find my response for your inquiries below:
Is there a character limit I should put in to get the first image to display?

-> It does not matter how many character that you've input, as long you have enable the truncation it will display 1st image in the content and truncate the content word according to setting

Please give it a try

Fadhli,

I'm having trouble following our conversation.

- I opened ticket because the fist image was not displaying in my email notifications.
- You said I needed to 'disable' truncation before the image would display.
- I asked if there was a way around this or if you could consider this in future releases.
- You said as long as truncation is 'enabled', it will still display the first image in the notification and truncate only the text specified in the count.

I don't follow because your first message conflicts with your second message.

Please advise what I need to do to get the first image to show up in my email notifications to subscribers. I have truncation set and the image doesn't appear in the email. Do I need to turn off truncation, or is there some other issue or setting that I'm missing that needs adjusted?

Thanks,

Sam

Thank you Arlex. I will disable truncation so the image will display and am glad you will consider allowing the image with truncation in a future version.

Regards
Sam
