I am able to replicate the issue on my local instance. I will log this in our tracker.

The invalid author id error is occurring when the user does not have create new post permission.

The user ShowTek is your account right? Perhaps you can temporary assign the user 'ShowTek' to 'super user' user group to avoid the error(http://take.ms/P8GZi)? Since the 'super user' user group has write permission.
