Hey guys,

We've found an issue on one of our client's sites, altexsolutions.com. This site is on Joomla 2.5.28 and Easyblog 5.044, and unfortunately simply updating their site and Easyblog version isn't an option at this time.

The issue they're having is that the blog composer in the backend of the sites almost seems to be jumping out of the lightbox for it (I've attached a gif of what this looks like).

If you had or knew of a fix for this, we'd much appreciate it if you could apply it to the site. I've provided login credentials for admin access to the site and FTP so you can do this.

Let me know if you have any questions or need anything else!
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It seems like you forgot to attach that screenshot in your first post.

It would be best if possible for you provide us some of the step how to replicate this issue.

Hi Arlex,

Sorry about that! I've attached a gif of the issue to this response. The issue occurs upon opening the blog composer in the backend of the website.

Hello Chris,

Hi Nick,

I've gone and done a little more testing with the issue, and it seems it might be browser based. I don't know what browser you were using, but the only browser I can replicate the issue in at the moment is Chrome. Firefox, Edge, and Internet Explorer are all displaying fine, no pop out issues.

Could you take another look for me, if you haven't already taken a look in Chrome?

Thanks,

After troubleshoot this long hour ago, it seems like I still unable to figure out which part caused this issue.

By the way, I did applied some changes from these following files, when the user click on the existing blog post or new blog post from backend, it will open the new tab instead of pop up, can you check again is it better than before?

/public_html/administrator/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/blogs/default.js
/public_html/administrator/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/blogs/default.php

Hi Arlex,

This seems to have worked around the issue, which is great! However, it looks like the new tab opens only when you're in the posts section of Easyblog. If you click the new button from anywhere else (like on the dashboard, for example) it still opening in the popup window. Would you be able to make sure that it opens in a window in other locations as well?

Thanks!

The URL for the page with button in question is the following: https://www.altexsolutions.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_easyblog

Attached as well is a screenshot pointing out the button.

Thanks for getting back to us, I already applied some changes from this file /public_html/administrator/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/easyblog/default.js , can you give it a try is it work fine now?

By the way, remember do the backup for these following files on your site, in case you still using Easyblog in Joomla 2.5.

/public_html/administrator/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/blogs/default.js
/public_html/administrator/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/blogs/default.php
/public_html/administrator/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/easyblog/default.js
