Hi,

I have just noticed that my blog category counts are wrong, so for example, I have a category called Funding Finder with sub categories below that. There are a total of 6 articles in one or more of the sub categories, yet the parent category shows a total of 6.

Secondly, I have set truncate to paragraphs and to cut off after 1 paragraph however it still adds other content, for example I have one category Funding Finder that uses custom fields and it displays all the custom fields in the blog Frontpage listings.

Finally, there seems to be a problem with the backend language files in that the code displays instead of the language, I also noticed this happening when in the front end. if you log in to create a new blog, then quit the screen when in edit mode, you will see what I mean.

I am on the latest version 5.0.16

Hi Mel,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your issue with the post count in your categories module, I've added a fix on your site and now the count should be displayed correctly.

As for the custom field, you can turn off the custom field from display in your blog listing page. I've turn off for you. Please see http://screencast.com/t/0aSzvjK8JlK Now custom fields no longer display in your blog listing page.

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Hi,

is there anyone who can help me with this issue? I am wondering as I added an update to this message that it is no longer visible in unanswered issues on here?

Regards

Hey Mel,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply, we might have missed your post earlier. Please find the response to your inquiries below:

I am not sure if I understand you here. If there are 6 posts within the category and it's subcategory, then shouldn't 6 be correct?

Secondly, I have set truncate to paragraphs and to cut off after 1 paragraph however it still adds other content, for example I have one category Funding Finder that uses custom fields and it displays all the custom fields in the blog Frontpage listings.

Custom fields are not truncated and they are displayed separately. You can disable them in your menu parameters under the Fields tab

This is a known issue and it can be fixed by uploading the attached language file in /administrator/language/en-GB/

hi mark,

my error due to tiredness, the parent categories show 12 in the example above - but there are only 6 posts altogetther in the child categories. it seems to be doubling up - you will see if you visit my site what i mean.

the language problems were corrected when i re-installed.

with regards to truncating custom fields, are you saying i can hide them on front page only/ as i obviously want to display them in their own categories. it would be just what i want if thats what you mean.

Hi Sam,

thank you. They are both sorted and exactly as I want!

Thanks for your help it is most appreciated.

One thing, I noticed that an old error is recurring since I upgraded in that when I unpublish a post it throws an error 400 not found. Its not a problem right now for me but just thought I should mention it.

Hey Mel,

Kindly please update to 5.0.17 which we have just released about an hour ago. If the problem still persists, kindly please start a new thread on our forums and we'll take a look at it
