It seems that this is because your site got cache. It cache your older settting/changes and not load any new changes/settings made.

I would like to recommend you to disabled "System - Page cache" before making any changes at your backend. By the way, i have cleared all cache on your site and it seems that it reflected correctly now. Please give it a try first and see how it goes. Hope this helps

Actually I don't think this has to do with the cache settings at all - each of the Blog category pages has the exact same title no matter what I set the title to in the category settings page.

If you look at the titles for these 2 category pages, you'll see they are the same:

http://www.mccormickconcepts.com/BLOG/Categories/Surround-sound-systems.html

They both have the same title as the main blog page: McCormick Concepts Blog

Sorry for confusion above. I thought you edited your categories and shown them at category's layout. It will always append to "McCormick Concepts Blog" because you have set them to show "McCormick Concepts Blog" title at your menu as you can see here https://screencast.com/t/hXx4c4qQxAu

I have removed it and it should shown correctly now. Please give it a check and see how it goes.

So, now the title for the main Blog page says 'Categories'. Where do I set the title for this page?

You can change them by going to this path .../language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easyblog.ini and search for "COM_EASYBLOG_CATEGORIES_PAGE_TITLE" as this title is hardcoded if you use category as homepage and will followed this string. Please give it a try and see how it goes.
